Wireless Toroto Launches First Big Hotspot

Those of you who have been attending NYCwireless meetings in the last year may have met Gabe Sawhney who recently started Wireless Toronto. Gabe came down to NYC this past spring to talk about community wireless, and then went back to Toronto and started up his own wireless group there.

Like Ile Sans Fil in Montreal, Wireless Toronto is going after local businesses, especially cafes, pubs, and restaurants. They’ve just launched one of their biggest hotspots at the St. Lawrence Market, a large open-air farmers’ market. You can read about it in this article.
